Duravant Operating Companies join together to provide donations to their local Ronald McDonald House Chapters
As we approach the holiday season, our “Doing Good” program takes on additional significance during this time of year. Many organizations who support those in need count on a sizeable portion of their donations during the holiday season and, as families gather to spend time together, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the things we are thankful for and think about how we can take action to make the season a little better for others.
Over the past eight years, Duravant companies have partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities throughout the years by collecting travel toiletries for families staying at RMHC facilities, collecting pop tabs for the RMHC Pop Tab Collection Drive, participating in the “Meals from The Heart” program, and making monetary donations to support various needs.
Once again, this holiday season, and in conjunction with our other “Doing Good” efforts, each operating company within Duravant made a donation to their local Ronald McDonald House Chapter.
Why Ronald McDonald House Charities?
Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House is that “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost.
Ronald McDonald Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. They operate with the belief that when a child is hospitalized the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.
