A new vertical form-fill-seal machine: the MLC Series, the high-speed solution for larger formats with a continuous sealing system

The new MLC Series can reach up to 2,400 envelopes per minute in 16-track mode.

The MLC Series represents a revolutionary solution to address the demands of larger format production, thanks to its integration of a continuous format sealing system. With an impressive capacity, this series can reach an output of up to 2400 envelopes per minute in a 16-track mode, making it the ideal choice for companies that need to handle significant production volumes. In addition, its compact design optimizes the available space, achieving a remarkable output of 160 envelopes per square meter.

This series is presented with two machine models: the MLC1000 and the MLC1200, both equipped with a continuous welding system, allowing the production of larger sachets that offer greater capacity for the dosing of a wide variety of products, such as solids, granulates, powders and liquids. These machines are particularly suitable for diverse sectors such as pharmaceutical, food, personal care and home care, among others, using the 4-seal sachet type in a fully servo-driven solution.

The MLC Series is distinguished by its ease of use and versatility. With the ability to perform format changeovers in less than a minute, thanks to direct control of the triangle and photocell position via the HMI using Athena software, this machine maximizes uptime and ensures continuous, uninterrupted production.

Equipped with a servomotor-controlled film transport system, the MLC Series offers exceptional operational accuracy and coordinated control of equipment movements. In addition, its integrated electrical cabinet reduces footprint, transport costs and commissioning times, demonstrating Mespack’s commitment to efficiency and innovation.

Furthermore, the MLC Series’ ability to work with sustainable materials demonstrates a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and a deep understanding of market demands in terms of sustainability. This approach aligns perfectly with the increasingly high expectations of consumers, who are looking for products and brands that are committed to environmental stewardship. Mespack is strongly committed to this vision, working closely with key partners and testing innovation to offer the best solutions for a greener world.

For its presentation at Hispack, Mespack has established a strategic collaboration with renowned partners Dow and Comexi for the production of recycled and oil-suitable sachets on the MLC1000 model. In this project, Dow has provided the material, using a PE/barrier PE laminate, while Comexi has carried out the printing on a solvent-free CI Evolution Offset printer.

Guillem Lloret, Innovation Manager at Mespack, comments: “The MLC Series is the result of hard work and dedication to deliver a solution that is not only exceptionally fast and versatile, but also environmentally friendly. At Mespack, we strongly believe in the importance of sustainability, and we are proud to present this innovative line of vertical form-fill-seal machines at Hispack 2024. With production capacities of up to 2400 pouches per minute and the ability to work with recyclable materials, the MLC Series sets a new standard in the packaging industry, offering a perfect balance between performance and environmental responsibility.”

Mespack is proud to present the MLC Series at Hispack 2024, booth 138, and expects this innovative solution to usher in a new era in vertical packaging, where speed, versatility and sustainability combine to deliver exceptional results.
