What is the Mespack Innovation Center?
The Mespack Innovation Center (MIC) in Barcelona is where brand owners, material suppliers and packaging experts test and validate new flexible packaging solutions on real production equipment. From HFFS and VFFS to water-soluble pods, cartoners and end-of-line systems, customers can run packaging trials, validate sustainable materials and optimize performance without disrupting their own production lines.

The advantages of developing a project at the MIC
Depending on the number of materials, formats and products being tested. Normally 1 format for 1 film per day. This will be more accurate when we have all the information.
Our engineers identify the root cause (sealing window, stiffness, friction…) and recommend adjustments to the material or machine settings for a new iteration.
A MIC trial validates materials and formats before you invest. A FAT validates the specific machine you’ve purchased before shipment.
No. The MIC is open to brand owners, film converters and material suppliers developing flexible packaging projects.
Yes. If the format needs specific change parts, we assess feasibility and lead time before confirming the trial.
