High Production Capacity for Small Spaces and Low Operator Maintenance time
Secondary packaging solutions that reduce cardboard, protect your products and speed up your line.
Wrap around packaging is a secondary packaging method in which a wrap around case packer forms a flat corrugated blank directly around a group of products, then glues and closes it in a machine with a compact frame. The result is a wrap around box that fits the product tightly: less cardboard, more stable pallets and high-speed operations than a RSC case packing machine. Mespack W Series automatic wrap around case packers reach up to 42 cases per minute for pouches, bottles, cartons and flow packs.
Products are collated into the desired configuration.
A flat corrugated blank is fed into the packaging system.
The wrap around carton is folded around the product group.
Hot melt adhesive secures the carton structure.
The package is compressed and squared to ensure stability and protection.
Finished cases are discharged for palletizing, warehousing or distribution.
Pouches or containers are aligned and grouped in rows.
The collator places the group in the right pattern, e.g. vertical.
The blank runs on a linear track; hot melt glue seals the flaps.
The case is squared for protection and sent to palletizing.
Efficient wrap around case packing systems accommodate a wide range of primary packages, so manufacturers can adapt quickly to changing market demands and product portfolios.
Beyond transport packaging, wrap around technology is widely used to produce retail-ready packaging, display trays, shelf-ready packs and promotional multipacks that combine product protection with strong point-of-sale presentation.
The case is built to the exact size of the product group, using less material than many standard cases.
Integrates with automated lines and supports continuous product flow in high-output plants.
The tight-fitting case minimizes product movement, from the production floor to the retail shelf.
A compact case follows product dimensions, cutting logistics costs for high volumes.
One machine forms, loads, glues and closes the case; one operator can run two machines.
Supports ESG goals with measurable improvements and no loss of performance.

High Production Capacity for Small Spaces and Low Operator Maintenance time
Wrap around packaging is a secondary packaging method in which a flat corrugated cardboard blank is folded and glued directly around a grouped set of products in one continuous operation. Unlike conventional case packing, the case is built around the product group instead of being erected empty first, creating a tight, stable pack that uses less cardboard.
In a wrap around case packer, also written wraparound or wrap-around case packer, products are aligned and grouped by an indexing and collating system, a flat corrugated blank is fed into the machine, the blank is folded around the product group, hot melt glue seals the flaps, and the case is compacted to ensure perfect squaring. Finished cases are then discharged for palletising and distribution.
A conventional case packing machine erects an empty case, loads it and then closes it, often using several machines. A wrap around case packer forms the case around the product in a single machine, so the case fits the product exactly, reduces void space and cardboard, and improves load stability on the pallet.
Mespack, a Duravant company based in Barcelona, designs and manufactures automatic wrap around case packers through its W Series, with outputs of up to 42 cases per minute. Mespack also supplies the primary packaging machines and end-of-line systems, so it can deliver the complete line from pouch or sachet to pallet as a single turnkey partner.
Wrap around case packers can pack stand-up pouches, bottles, cartons or cases and flow packs. They are used for food, beverages, pet food, home care, personal care and pharmaceutical products, such as snacks, juices, detergents, wet pet food and multipacks.
Consider the product type (pouches, bottles, cartons or flow packs), case size and inner configuration, target cases per minute, intermittent or continuous motion, available space and integration with primary packaging and palletising. Mespack assesses these factors to recommend the right W Series model.
